FAQs

What ages do you serve?

We care for children from newborn through 3.5 years old in a warm, home-based environment designed to support the early years through play, connection, and thoughtful care.

Are you a bilingual daycare?

We are actually a trilingual environment, with children naturally exposed to Portuguese, Spanish, and English throughout the day in a warm and meaningful way.

What is your approach to learning?

Our program is play-based, child-led, and rooted in strong relationships. We place a strong value on social-emotional development and believe children learn best through play, connection, and everyday experiences that feel meaningful to them.

Do you offer outdoor play every day?

Yes. Outdoor time is an important part of our daily rhythm, and we enjoy being outside year-round, including during the rainy season when it is safe to do so. We always use good judgment based on weather and air quality.

How do you communicate with families?

Families are welcome to reach out during business hours. We also stay in close contact through text message and the Brightwheel app, where we share updates, photos, and videos from each child’s day. We value privacy, and no images are shared on social media.

Do you support potty training?

Yes. We work closely with families during potty training and believe consistency between home and daycare is very important. Our approach is supportive, individualized, and based on each child’s readiness.

What should I bring for my child? They're not even

Parents provide diapers, sunscreen, diaper rash cream, extra clothes, pacifiers, bottles, and a water bottle. For infants, families also provide formula or breast milk. Once a child transitions to whole milk, daycare provides it. Daycare also provides wipes.

What is your sick policy?

Children must be fever-free for 24 hours without medication before returning. We also look at the child’s overall symptoms and how they are doing in general, especially if they have vomiting, diarrhea, persistent coughing, unusual rash, eye discharge, or anything that may put others at risk. If a child becomes sick during the day, they will need to be picked up.

Are vaccines required for enrollment?

Yes. We follow the CDC immunization schedule, and children must have an up-to-date immunization record for enrollment.

Which holidays are you closed?

Please let us know about any food or environmental allergies before your child starts. Families of children with allergies or asthma must provide an individualized health care plan signed by the child’s physician. If your child has dietary restrictions, carries an EpiPen, or needs other emergency medication, we will need the proper forms and instructions on file.

What if my child has allergies?

Yes. Tuition is based on enrollment rather than attendance, so payment remains the same if your child is sick, away on vacation, or absent for any reason.

Drop-off and pick-up take place in the driveway. Families are asked to use the designated driveway parking spaces and supervise children closely during arrival and departure. Authorized pick-up by someone other than a parent requires prior notice and photo ID.

We are closed for the following holidays: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, and Thanksgiving. We also take scheduled seasonal breaks throughout the year, including one week for Spring Break, two weeks for Summer Break, and two weeks for Winter Break.

Do I still need to pay if my child is sick or away on vacation?

Families usually start by reaching out and scheduling a tour. If we decide it’s a good fit, the next steps are completing the enrollment paperwork, signing the contract, and submitting the deposit to secure the spot. After that, we confirm the start date and prepare for the first day together.

How does drop-off and pick-up work?

What does the enrollment process look like?

We understand that sometimes it takes a little time to know if a childcare setting is the right fit. For that reason, we offer a two-week trial period at the beginning of care, during which either side may choose to end the agreement. The deposit, however, is non-refundable, as it is paid to hold your child’s space in the program.

What if we start and it doesn’t feel like the right fit for our family?

What does the transition to daycare look like?

We like to ease children into the transition gently. For the first three days, we usually start with half days so the child has time to get familiar with the new environment, routines, and caregivers. From there, we watch closely and follow the child’s lead. We pay attention to how the child is settling in, including whether they are eating, sleeping, and starting to feel comfortable with us. If the child seems ready, we can move toward full days. If not, we may continue with the shorter schedule a little longer to support a smoother adjustment.

Every child is different, so there is no exact timeline. Some children adjust very quickly, while others need more time. It can depend on age, temperament, personality, and how much experience they have had being around other adults or children. In the beginning, we do our best to make the transition as gentle as possible. We work closely with families to learn what helps each child feel comfortable and supported, and we try to stay as flexible as we can during the adjustment period. Many children start doing well after the first few days, and often feel much more settled within about two weeks. It is also very normal for children to have hard drop-offs again after a long vacation, holiday, or time away from daycare.

How long does it usually take for a child to adjust to daycare?

Yes, part-time care may be available depending on space. We do not offer half-day schedules, but we may have part-time openings for families who need care on specific full days during the week, such as two, three, or four days.

Do you offer part-time care?

We may offer occasional extended or overnight care for currently enrolled families, based on availability and prior arrangement.
